I am going on a picnic with a new girl I have been interacting with for a couple of weeks. She is a vegan and I want to prepare food that she can enjoy. I thought maybe some of y?all way have a suggestion or two for vegan food that can hold up well to changes in temperatures and can be eaten at world temperature :)
A big salad in a Tupperware with dressing on the side always works (spring mix, grape tomatoes, cucumber, carrot, almonds, raisins).
You could bring some fruit and maybe a cliff bar or something, too. IMO, most vegan protein sources (tempeh, tofu, beans, mushrooms, etc.) are really better eaten warm, unfortunately.
Think mediateranian. Olives, a selection breads, flavoured oils, hummus, raw Veg for dipping, roast chilled veg (with basil), rice, pasta, cous cous, mushroom p?t?, maybe a vegan wine?
